When overworking becomes your default stress response: How to notice the patterns & regulate yourself back to clarity.

A few days ago, I caught myself slipping right back into an old pattern that I hadn't seen in a long: chaotic overworking.

I was out of routine, my hormones were running me ragged, I was still recovering from the super-flu, and instead of slowing down and giving myself the space I needed to get grounded again, I did what I’ve historically done when I feel uncertain or insecure…

I worked more... this time without even realising I was doing it.

I spent an entire day doing a stupid amount of work, constantly feeling like I wasn’t doing enough - and, of course, it still didn’t feel like enough by the end of it.

So in this episode, I’m sharing what happened, why I think we can default to overworking when we’re feeling uncertain, insecure or unsafe, how to recognise when you’re starting to slip into that pattern, and what you can actually do to ease yourself out of panic mode and regulate again.
